Diversity enables Affordable Real Estate in Chicago
America is commonly referred to as a ‘melting pot’. The term melting pot refers to the mixture of the many different races and cultures that make up the American population. Chicago, IL is a city in America that is a perfect example of a melting pot. Chicago’s diversity has not only made it a great place to visit, but a wonderful place to purchase real estate.
Although Chicago is an American city, it is one of the few places in America where you can walk down the street and hear several languages being spoken, and witness a plethora of different cultures living together in a prosperous community. Chicago has so many cultures and nationalities within its 237-mile radius, that there are entire neighborhood boroughs specific to certain nationalities.
Many Koreans reside in Little Seoul, Humboldt Park is mainly made up of Puerto Ricans and people of Latin descent. There is also Chinatown, Greektown and Little Italy.
There is a very large eastern European population in Chicago as well, especially people of Polish descent. Other than Poland, Chicago has the largest population of Poles in the world.
Chicago celebrates its cultural diversity by holding a number of cultural events every year. Diversity not only provides Chicago with a rich culture, but it benefits the city in many other ways, especially financially. Chicago is the most economically stable city in America, and this is attributed to the city’s cultural diversity.
The amount of commercial and residential real estate in Chicago has been growing mostly in part to the city’s diverse population. Chicago has 27 sister cities, many of which have sent many immigrants to Chicago over the past several years. This has not only contributed to the economy but to the city’s cultural richness.

Chicago’s cultural diversity certainly is important to raising well rounded children. I’m happy to raise my family here.
